Naples, FL

This Vacation was one for the books...

Naples, Florida is home to some of the most beautiful white sand beaches! Lowdermilk Park quickly became one of our favorites because of the ample parking, access to bathrooms, and the MOST GORGEOUS sunsets! One morning we even had the pleasure of seeing dolphins!!

I mean, UNREAL

We decided on a whim to book a vacay to Naples to escape our brutal Michigan winter. My husband and I literally were sitting in our bed with the computer and decided to book it for the next week, what we didn't check was the weather! We happened to book during one of the worst cold spells of the year. Let's just say jackets on the beach, was not what we had envisioned! Haha! In addition to the dreary (and very rainy) weather my husband got food poisoning that took him out for a full 24 hours. At, first I admit, I was feeling really bummed about our luck, but we got super creative and this ended up being one of my favorite vacations to date! It is amazing how refreshing it is to just celebrate being "together". There is something about unplugging from the pace of every day life and being truly present with one another that puts everything in perspective. The truth is my littles are only going to be little for a short time and it was nice to peel my eyes off of the housework (or smart phone) and focus them on breathtaking sunsets, sandy little toes, and pudgy hands, so diligently collecting seashells!

The great thing about Naples was that there were actually quite a few good options for things to do with kids on rainy days! We found a great little pottery painting place that the kids fell in love with. Link here: cone06potterypainting.com

We also found a great hand on children's museum that kept everyone occupied for HOURS!The Golisano Children's Museum of Naples was awesome and had so many educational activities. Link Here: www.cmon.org

Sometimes getting creative means shopping at the hotel "Store"(lobby) for treats and snacks and snuggling in for a movie night!

Hopefully this post highlights that you can have fun in ANY location, but Naples sure does make it easy! ENJOY!
